Commercial Writing & Production
As a commercial writer, Broussard can best be described as a generalist. His "Swiss army knife" approach to continually developing a wide range of writing skills has put him in a position to compose a variety of successful projects for his clients. The following works represent a sampling of Broussard's commercial range.
business writing CourseThrough a state-sponsored grant program, Broussard wrote and conducted a training course designed to teach mid-level managers how to compose more effective business communications. The course begins with a summary of grammatical and formative skills then evolves to dissect the elements of influential writing in a range of common business situations.

White PaperAfter United Way of Acadiana's board of directors defined three focus areas for community improvement, they hired Broussard to package the message into a white paper that could be used to make their case to the public. Broussard identified the focus areas in ways that would be memorable, coining the phrase "Three E's" representing education, earnings and essentials. The paper remains a core part of the nonprofit's value proposition to donors.

The nonprofit hired The Pyramid Group, for which Broussard conducted a series of interviews with over 30 Habitat executives across the United States. He compiled that feedback into a report summarizing common themes in each discussion. After presenting his findings at the conference, the data was used to create a strategic plan for developing Habitat's common leadership vision.

Process FlowchartSometimes visualizing a path helps participants become more engaged with the process. Such was the case when The Acadiana Economic Development Council (now a part of OneAcadiana) was developing its strategic plan. With feedback from the group concerning desired outcomes, Broussard developed a process chart so members could visualize each stage of the decision-making process and see how it developed into a plan of action.

Commercial FilmSometimes referred to as industrial films, commercial films help organizations explain a topic or state a case in ways that could not be achieved through other media. When Kathy Roy approached Broussard with her high school course on emotional intelligence, he quickly found a way to help her demonstrate the course's importance in a documentary-style short film. The film was presented to Louisiana state officials and successfully helped Kathy achieve accreditation for her course.
